Catching Up with Our Borrowers: Miss Print's Successful Expansion with RDC's SBA 504 Loan Program
Miss Print - Hammond, IN
Expanding the Print Legacy
Miss Print, a commercial printing company with over 40 years of operation, has successfully expanded with the opening of a second location in Hammond, Indiana. This facility, which serves as a production hub, complements their original Munster location, where traditional printing services are offered.
Founded in 1986 by Richard Baltensberger, Miss Print has become a go-to provider for various printing and signage needs. The company offers services including traditional printing, sign printing, wall wraps, vehicle wraps, banners, backlit signs, retractable banner stands, brochures, and folders. Their client base spans multiple industries, with a focus on personalized and high-quality products for any occasion or office need.
Financing Miss Print
To support the growth of their business, Miss Print sought financing for their second location. In 2022, the Regional Development Company provided an SBA 504 loan to fund the purchase of land, construction of the building, and necessary renovations for the Hammond facility. This expansion allows Miss Print to enhance production capacity and continue offering exceptional services to its clients.
How the SBA 504 loan program works
The SBA 504 loan program provides long-term, fixed-rate financing for major fixed assets, such as real estate and equipment, to small businesses. In the case of Miss Print's expansion, the loan enabled them to secure the funds needed for the land and building purchase, as well as renovations.
The SBA 504 loan structure works in partnership with a conventional lender. Typically, the borrower makes a 10% down payment, the bank funds 50% of the project costs, and the RDC covers the remaining 40%. This financing strategy allows small businesses to secure significant funding while retaining capital for operational needs and growth.
