History of the RDC
The Regional Development Company, formerly known as The Northwest Indiana Regional Development Company was certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration in April of 1994 to administer the SBA 504 loan program for a seven county area of Indiana consisting of Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Jasper, Newton, Starke and Pulaski counties. In November of 2003, the U.S. Small Business Administration deregulated the Development Company 504 Loan Program, permitting the RDC to operate on a statewide basis. While this rule offered an excellent opportunity for the RDC, the company intends on targeting its primary area of operation toward the market that is driven by the small businesses it serves and the lenders it has established relationships with over the past 15 years.
As of year end 2009, the RDC has funded 375 loans, representing $122 million of 504 financing, a total of 4,369 jobs either created or retained and over $331 million in total leveraged investment in Northwest Indiana.
